15" (38 cm.) Oval-shaped bisque socket head with
small cut pate at the top of head,amber-tinted
complexion,small black enamel glass eyes,black
single-stroke curvy brows,aquiline-shaped
elongated nose,closed mouth with outlined
lips,un-pierced ears,French brown composition and
wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent,virtually unplayed with,original
tiny,tiny firing lines at eye cuts. Comments:
maker unknown,late 19th century,the doll was
located in a Paris trunk,has French body,and has
an attached French trade card depicting little
girls choosing an exotic doll,all providing clues
but no definite answers. Value Points: very rare
doll,wearing superb original exotic costume with
detailed embroidery,braid,bead and passamenterie
trim,along with blue kidskin slippers marked "2".
