Description
7" (18 cm.) length box. 2" people. A wooden box with decorative paper covers hinges open to form four steps,and has a hidden drawer that contains two fancily decorated acrobatic poles and two carved wooden acrobats with painted painted hair and features,painted and silk costumes with gilt paper decorations,and large wooden feet. When arranged on the poles,atop the steps,the figures are designed to tumble and turn down the steps in acrobatic movements. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: early 19th century. Value Points: very rare toy enhanced by amazingly fine quality of painting and and costuming,wonderfully-preserved.
