22" (56 cm.) Rose-tinted wax shoulder head turned slightly to the side,blue glass enamel inset eyes with heavily-modeled eyelids,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with downcast pensive-seeming lips,auburn mohair inserted wig,soft muslin body,poured wax arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent,2" split of wax on right shoulder. Marks: Hamley's Regent Street (oval stamp on torso). Comments: English,probably Montanari,the doll was sold in the prestigous London shop of Hamley's,circa 1875. Value Points: especially beautiful rose complexion,rare hair color,body is very clean and sturdy,antique costume including original coat and bonnet,boutique label. From the Anne Rice Collection.
