15" (38 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady
with slender uptilted head,chin held haughtily
upward,oval slender face,brown glass eyes,painted
lower lashes,feathered brows,aquiline nose with
accented nostrils,closed mouth with center accent
line,red dots at ear centers,brunette mohair
upswept wig over plaster pate,slender kid body
with pin-jointing,bisque lower arms. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 172 1 made in
Germany. Comments: Kestner,circa 1910,their
portrait of an Edwardian society lady,based upon
the drawings of American illustrator Charles Dana
Gibson. Value Points: appealing petite size of
the lady wearing beautiful antique silk
costume,undergarments,shoes,and having original
body and wig,lovely bisque.
