18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset
eyes,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with center
accent line,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over
cork pate,all-wooden body with dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and ankles,and
having extra pivot-jointing at waist and thighs.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A la Poupee
de Nuremberg/ 21 rue de Choiseul/

Lily,the signature poupee from the doll shop of
Madame Lavallee-Peronne,circa 1865; the doll was
mentioned in La Poupee Modele,of which
Lavalle-Peronne was a major contributor from its
beginning in 1863,referred to as "the doll maker
of exquisite taste." Value Points: an important
pivotal doll in poupee history,this example
beautifully preserved with lovely bisque and
artfully-crafted body,original label.
