8" (20 cm.) doll. 10"l. trunk. Resting within a green velvet-covered wooden trunk with domed lid,lift-out tray and decorative gilt and silver metal trim,is a bisque head doll with brown glass sleep eyes,painted lashes,single stroke brows,slightly-parted lips,teeth,blonde mohair wig,composition body with jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. hairline on center forehead. Marks: 44.17 G.K. (sunburst mark). Comments: doll by Gebruder Kuhnlenz,circa 1890,in presentation trunk for the French market. Value Points: The doll is wearing her original embroidered dress (with original stamp "Nainsook" on the back),undergarments,socks,shoes and bonnet,and has an elaborate trousseau with additional dresses,chemises,bonnets,wig,and little jewelry box label "Au Paradis des Enfants/Paris",and is presented in a luxury trunk with hidden music box that plays a delightful tune when wound.
