24" (61 cm.) Very plump pale-complexioned bisque
head with flat-cut neck socket that accommodates
the matching shoulderplate and is attached by
classic Rohmer small metal plate at the cork
pate,half-moon shaped dark blue inset enamel
eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,lightly-feathered brows,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with pale outlined
lips,un-pierced lightly-blushed ears,original
ringlet-curled mohair wig over cork pate,French
horsehair-stuffed plump poupee body in the Rohmer
manner,gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and
knees,stitched and separated fingers,wearing her
original slightly-frail velvet and silk two-piece
walking suit with
double-petticoats,chemise,pantalets,black knit
stockings,black leather ankle boots with
Huret-like cobbled soles,leather gloves and
matching velvet bonnet with Paris maker's label on
the inside lining. Condition: generally
excellent,few body patches. Comments: attributed
to Leontine Rohmer in view of the unique metal pin
jointing and classic Rohmer body,circa 1860. Value
Points: extraordinary facial model,previously
undocumented,is both compelling and innocent in
its expression,has finest quality of bisque and
painting,presented from the original French family
estate.
