24" (61 cm.) Untinted bisque socket head with
highly-characterized features,brown glass
eyes,painted lashes and brows,painted clown
decorations,open mouth with row of
teeth,deeply-impressed double-laughter lines in
the cheeks,white mohair wig,French composition
walking body with jointing at shoulders and hips.
Condition: old professional restoration on the
forehead. Marks: 4. Comments: probably Zinner and
Sohne for the French market,circa 1890. Value
Points: rare large size of the novelty doll with
frail original silk clown costume.
