Description
14" (36 cm.) excluding stands. Two bisque shoulder
head ladies with shoulder plate modeled nearly to
the waist are presented with their heads haughtily
posed,having slender oval faces and elongated
throats,modeled bosoms; each with highly-stylized
painted features,upper glancing eyes,closed mouth
and having mohair wig,padded armature body,paper
mache lower legs with painted black stockings and
heeled shoes,and elegantly posed bisque
arms,wearing original lace,silk and velvet
costumes; the dolls are posed on their original
wooden stands. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: French,circa 1915,the fashion ladies
were known as "Pandora",an apparent reference to
the 18th century traveling French fashion
mannequins also known by that name.
