19" (48 cm.) Poured-wax shoulder head with plump facial modeling,light blue enamel inset eyes with darker outer rims,heavily-modeled eyelids,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with downcast pensive expression,blonde waist-length soft mohair wig with delicate inserted tendrils,brass edging of sew holes,softly stuffed muslin body with shapely-waist allowing for presentation of lady costume,poured wax arms and legs,bare feet. Condition: generally excellent,virtually unplayed with,very minor typical wax rubs. Comments: in the manner of Montanari,circa 1870. Value Points: pristine condition of the doll and her superb original aqua silk costume,that has all-original crisp finish and colors,including chemise,two petticoats and split-leg drawers with original sizing,knit stockings and fancy leather ankle boots,aqua silk satin gown with elaborate ruffles,ruching,Alencon lace trim,demi-train with lace-edged ruffled hem lining,matching wire-framed bonnet with feathered trim,and cream cashmere shawl (few moth holes) with silk braid and fringe.
