Marks: Germany 410 1. Comments: Marseille for
Robert Maaser of Sonneberg who registered his
retractable-teeth design in 1913,allowing the doll
to show only its upper teeth when in a reclined
pose, and both sets of teeth when upright. An
advertisement in a toy magazine of the era
said,"by this novelty the enchanting doll is given
a surprisingly vivacious and natural
expression, giving the child the illusion of being
confronted by a living human child...[its]
innocent face brings joy to the heart of every
child". Value Points: very rare model with
wonderful expression and bisque,rare teeth
mechanism,original body and body finish.
