21" (53 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head with very plump cheeks and chin on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,almond-shaped brown glass enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,lightly
feathered brows and lashes,rose blushed eye shadow,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,original lambswool wig
over cork pate,kid bebe body with very plump shape,gusset-jointing at hips and
knees,bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent,miniscule pinflake on upper eye rim
appears original. Marks: 4 (head and shoulders) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (paper label on
torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,his first period bebe,circa 1877. Value Points: especially
beautiful early Bru bebe with superb pale bisque complexion,finest modeling,original
body,bisque hands,wearing original maroon silk
costume,bonnet,undergarments,stockings,leather shoes (one buckle missing) signed "B" (in
script) and "4".
