18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head with flat-cut neck on kid-edged bisque shoulder
plate,deposed system of neck articulation allowing realistic 90 degree articulation only,cobalt
blue enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly feathered brows,accented nostrils
and eye corners,closed mouth with accented lips,unpierced ears,brunette human hair hand-
tied wig over cork pate,kid-over-wooden body with shapely torso,dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,bisque lower arms. Condition: generally excellent,the
poupee has bisque lower legs that are not old. Marks: Depose J (front shoulder plate).
Comments: the facial model closely resembles early portrait Jumeau poupee,indicated also by
the "J" signature,and the depose mark refers to the luxury and rarely found neck
articulation,circa 1870. Value Points: rare poupee with very beautiful face and perfect bisque
arms and hands,wooden body,lovely antique costume.
