24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head,deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,rose- blushed eye shadow,painted lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,separately modeled pierced ears,original blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully- jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 11 (and artist checkmarks,on head) Jumeau Medaille d̴Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1885,although bearing the red stamp marking,the bebe is clearly a transitional model from earlier incised depose bebe,having the classic wider nose bridge,applied ears and straight wrists found on the incised depose model. Value Points: especially beautiful bebe with fine luminous complexion,original wig,earrings,and wearing superb antique ivory satin wedding gown,veil with coronet,bridal bouquet,undergarments,leather shoes.
