Pressed bisque socket head,brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined tongue-tip between shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent,early light retouch on fingers. Marks: 1 H. Comments: Aristide Halopeau,circa 1882,his small boutique firm,successor to the Barrois firm,created a very limited luxury bebe during the early 1880s,and few models are known to exist. Value Points: among the rarest of the French bebes,this example has dainty yet compelling expression,beautiful bisque and painting,original body,and fine antique wig and costume that may be original.
