19" (48 cm.) Solid domed paper mache head with black painted pate,oval-shaped face,elongated
throat,black enamel inset eyes,daintily painted lashes and brows,refined shaping of nose,closed
mouth,original muslin body with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally
excellent,minor nose tip rub. Comments: probably Andreas Voit,Germany,circa 1840. Value
Points: rare-to-find early lady with original body,original facial painting with refined
expression,and wearing her original Swiss folklore costume with bead embroidered
vest,stiffened coiffe,original undergarments,skirt,apron,sash,blouse and hand-stitched leather
shoes.
