16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with flat-dimensional face,side seams with some fullness around the
front section lending a plump look to the face,oil painted features and curly brown hair with
scalloped curls at the forehead,large brown eyes with two white eye dots in each eye,outlined
lashes,nose and mouth,blushed cheeks,stitch-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,nicely
costumed. Condition: very good,some paint fading around the mouth. Comments: Emma
Adam̴s Columbian Doll,so-named for its Gold Medal award at the 1893 Columbian Exposition
World Fair in Chicago. Value Points: desirable American doll with original painted finish,most
appealing expression.
