12" (30 cm.) One-piece porcelain vignette depicting an adult lady and two children standing upon a porcelain grassy knoll which is framed by a pink-lustre decorated base whose center cartouche encircles the gilt lettering "Yardley̴s Old English Lavender"; the woman and children have sculpted details of facial features,hair,and costumes in the late-18th century manner,and each is carrying a basket or bouquet of lavender flowers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (intertwined script letters) Dresden. Comments: Dresden,mid-19th century,the vignette was commissioned by Yardley of England who began production of their signature lavender scents in 1770. Value Points: rare commissioned vignette with apt lavender theme.
