Carved wooden socket head,amber tinted complexion,carved black hair in side- parted mannish fashion,facial features of adult with strong nose and cheek bones,deeply sculpted half-moon brown-painted eyes with defined heavy lids,eyeliner,thick curvy black brows,cheek blush,closed mouth,wooden spring-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent,delicate nose rub. Comments: Schoenhut,circa 1915,the figure incorporates a unique painting of Schoenhut̴s "Manikin" head with classic Schoenhut child body,described in Carol Corson̴s Schoenhut Dolls,A Collector̴s Encyclopedia. Value Points: exceptionally rare special-commission doll representing Japanese Man,of which less than 10 are known to exist; with superb painting,and wearing its original multi-layered Japanese costume,in superb state of preservation.
