Description
16" (41 cm.) All-bisque figure portrays a young girl standing upon a sculpted snow-capped
cobbled-stone path,cozily costumed in a full-length coat with bisque "fur" trim at the
hem,cuffs and collar,and matching the "fur" muff she holds in her left hand; her right black-
gloved hand points to the "surprise" for hidden inside the muff is her pet tabby kitten. The girl
has sculpted tousled brown curly hair,intaglio grey eyes,closed mouth with hint of smile,and
impressed laughter crinkles around the eyes and mouth. The kitten has shaded tabby
colors,green painted eyes,freckles,and dear little white paws clinging to the edge of the muff.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (sunburst mark). Comments: Gebruder
Heubach,circa 1910. Value Points: fine large size,superb sculpting of face and hair enhancing
the charming scene; details of sculpting including the quilted design of coat lining,beautifully
draped folds of coat at the back,streaming pink ribbons,and realistic shading and highlights
of the "fur" trim.
