Description
16" (41 cm.) All-bisque figure depicts a young girl with deeply sculpted tousled curly hair
standing in front a chair, her head tilted upward, her hands balanced on the chair arms. Her
ringlet-curled ash-blonde hair has topknot curls tied with a blue sculpted ribbon, and her
intaglio blue eyes are looking upward and sideways, having deeply incised eyeliner and eye
folds, painted brows, impressed dimples, closed mouth modeled with two beaded teeth; she is
wearing a sculpted white chemise with blue ribbons that are casually falling from her
shoulders. There is an narrow oval hole between the girl and the chair back suggesting the
piece could be used as a vase. Condition: very fine small restoration on few fingers of right
hand, otherwise excellent. Marks: Heubach (sunburst). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa
1910. Value Points: the rarity is rivaled by the exceptional quality of sculpting and realistic
depiction on the grand-sized figure.
