12" (30 cm.) l. 8" head circumference. Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck,light brown sculpted hair with extended forelock curls and side curls,tiny blue glass sleep eyes in half-moon shape,umber tinting around the eyes,accented nostrils,open mouth with smiling expression,accented lips,four porcelain teeth,tongue,muslin body,composition limbs,nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Gladdie Copyright by Helen W. Jensen Germany. Comments: designed by the American artist,Helen Jensen,and made in Germany,circa 1925,the doll was more commonly created of earthenware rather than this luxury bisque variation. Value Points: the very rare bisque version of Gladdie is especially delightful in this unusual petite size,and has finest quality of bisque and sculpting.
