5 1/2" (14 cm.) Having ebony-painted bent-wood frames with highly-stylized curves,wooden frames with original red silk upholstery,comprising settee with arms,one arm chair,FOUR straight chairs. Excellent condition. Circa 1900,inspired by the designs of Viennese Michael Thonet who,for decades during the mid-19th century experimented with furniture design with steamed bent,eventually winning bronze and silver medals at London and Paris International Expositions in mid-century.
