22" (56 cm.) Carved wooden shoulderhead with oval face, elongated strong throat, painted black hair with sculpted topknot of tightly-woven braids and painted looped curls over her ears, large painted blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with primly set lips, blushed cheeks, slender muslin high-waisted body with elongated limbs, kid arms, original early muslin dress. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1820. Value Points: rare early wooden doll with regal yet gentle demeanor, original body and dress. Private collection Lorna Lieberman.
