Description
6 1/2" (17 cm.) h. A pressed tin jardiniere whose luxury details include double tiers of plant
holders and gargoyle-shaped legs is highlighted by a fancily-waved frame that encloses a very
rare lithopane of seated young girl in the midst of her favorite play things. When held to the
light,the seemingly-all-white lithopane gains dimension and the scene becomes clear. The
bottom tier of jardiniere has scalloped edge and the upper tier has filigree rim. Silk plants
decorate the jardiniere. Excellent condition,few small paint rubs. Germany,Rock & Graner,circa
1875.
