Description
40" (102 cm.) w. x 14"h. x 16"d. The two-room dollhouse setting is highlighted by an unusual
corner alcove accessed by two steps and set-off by a railing with gilded metal grills. The rooms
are fronted by cream-painted pilasters with gold accents and have a center opening doorway
and three large windows with painted panes. The walls have old paper and the floors are
lithographed-paper to simulate parquet. Old silk or velvet draperies hang at each window with
wooden cornices. The smaller room contains four original pieces of Gottschalk bedroom
furniture,with original cream paint with red striping. Very good condition,some wear to wall and
floor papers. Germany,Moritz Gottschalk,circa 1910,the house is marked "Gesetzlich Geschutz
3542" on the underside.
