17"d. The one-room wooden kitchen with
well-detailed architectural features including
double chimneys,roof balustrade centering a little
attic room with small double-door opening and
gingerbread trim,large room-sized cupola with
multi-pane windows on six sides and a bell-shaped
dome,columnar front,side-opening door with upper
glazed windows and a large window on the opposite
wall. The interior walls are painted traditional
"beer color" and the room is furnished with
matching built-in wooden furniture including
glass-door cupboard,wooden cabinet with tin sink
and faucet,and shelving,along with
table,chairs,and wooden plate rack containing six
matching pewter plates. There is a built-in
beer-color chimney with faux-marbleized painting
of the surround,and blue and white tile backing
which is repeated over the sink. The stove is a
very rare curved-front Maerklin stove with four
original fitted tin pots and pans with brass lids
and there is also a Maerklin tin cooking oil
depot,and a set of striped blue tinware including
foot bath,baby bath,bucket,and watering can. There
is a tin coffee grinder,tin scale,3 copper
molds,wooden utensil rack with blue and white
porcelain utensils including rolling pin,various
porcelain tableware including a cutting board
labeled Guten Appetit,and a very fine and rare
Erzebirge wooden serving set that includes two
large lidded coffee pots. A paper-mache baby in
original cradle is in the house along with his
paper-mache pull toy horse. Excellent condition.
Germany/Belgium area,the house is penciled "1883"
on the side columns.
