Description
41" (104 cm.) w. x 17"h. x 17"d. The two-room wooden dollhouse features large 16-pane
windows at the back of the each,the windows without glass and having center opening-
inward window. There are wooden pilasters at the front in original maroon paint with gilt
decorations. Each room was old wallpaper and lithographed-paper floors to simulate parquet;
old curtains with wooden cornices hang in each room,and the Art Nouveau bedroom curtains
complement the border wallpaper and carpet. A door with lithographed-paper cover to
simulate carving opens between the rooms,and has Gottschalk silver knob. A chandelier
hangs in the salon which is furnished with original Gottschalk furniture including
cupboard,dessert buffet,hall mirror,piano,2 chairs,plant stand,armchair,and a very rare
"folding" tˆte-…-tˆte. Very good condition,some spotting on papers. Germany,Moritz
Gottschalk,circa 1907,the furniture was displayed in the 1907 catalog of that firm,the house
is numbered on the base "4592".
