18" (46 cm.) One-piece carved wooden solid domed head and torso, elongated throat, oval-shaped face with high forehead, painted brown eyes with brown outline, red upper eyeliner, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth, blushed cheeks and chin, cloth upper arms, wooden hands with separately-sculpted fingers, wooden cage skirt. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Continental, late 1700s. Value Points: fine original painting of features and complexion, wearing early silk brocade underskirt with metallic borders, front panel gown and floor-length silk cape with original embroidery, lace-backed beaded coiffe.
