Rare French Wooden Gilt Furniture with Blue Velvet Upholstery

Of light wood with gilded patination,the blue velvet-covered pieces are richly embellished with appliques of embossed gilt paper along with edges of upholstery,on the wooden frames,and,notably,centering the original upholstery. Various figural motifs include baskets of flowers,lyre,and pair of lovebirds in tree. Excellent condition. French,circa 1870,a very rare set.
