Description
31"(79 cm.) w. x 12"h. x 16"d. A two-room wooden framed dollhouse setting has
lithographed-paper covering the exterior,walnut or mahogany frame with nicely-shaped
natural finish columns and roof-edges,and matching carved cornices that are fitted with old
lace curtains. There is an open doorway between the two rooms,each of which have good old
wall paper and borders,and lithographed-paper floors. A needlework carpet and a chandelier
are in each room. The parlor has a Boulle-style wooden secretary desk by Wagner,and a
carved dark wood ensemble comprising buffet,hall mirror,table,and a green-velvet covered
sofa and four chairs,and generous accessories including a silver-metal clock,bronzed statue
lamp with three bulbs,Lauscha glass,various porcelains,and five wall prints. The bedroom has
a bed,tables,marble-top dressing table,chairs,towel bar,and various accessories. Three
dollhouse people inhabit the rooms including a moustachioed man,along with two all-bisque
children and their three tinier all-bisque doll?s dolls. Very good condition overall in original
state of preservation. Germany,circa 1890.
