Description
7"(18 cm.) w. A firm-sided box is lavishly covered with green velvet and embossed gilt
papers,and is arranged as a swinging cradle on high platform with drawer beneath that is lined
with lace-edged hankies. There is a carved bone knob,and a little surprise: an engraving of a
home on a hill is hidden beneath the cradle and is reflected by the velvet-edged mirror on the
base. Excellent condition. For the French market,of exceptional luxury touches,circa 1860.
