Description
2 1/2" (6 cm.) x 2". Oil-painted vignettes on tin
depict homey scenes,one in which a couple peer
over a letter while a pair of doves are perched
nearby in a birdcage; the other in which a bearded
aged man peers into a bottle that he holds on
high,while his two friends look on. The paintings
have excellent details that complete the vignette
such as quill and ink and book on the nearby
table. Excellent condition,frames are not
original. Early-19th century.
