Description
35" (89 cm.) w. x 16"h. x 16"d (plus 6"d. alcove). The wooden-framed exterior has original ochre
paint with grey painted pilasters at the front accented with gold and red,three sets of triple-
paned windows with original wooden cornices having carved crest,original curtains on each room
with ormolu tie-backs on two windows. A two-step set-back alcove sunroom is at the back of
the parlor. The rooms have pleasing old wall paper and lithographed-paper floors to simulate
parquet. A wooden door with Gottschalk handle and lithographed paper cover is between the two
rooms. Good condition with some retouch of wood paint,probably an original railing at edge of
alcove. Germany,attributed to Moritz Gottschalk,circa 1910,a pleasing bright room with original
papers and curtains.
