7" (18 cm.) and 7 1/2". The bisque shoulder head man and woman each have painted
features,mohair wigs,muslin bodies,and bisque lower limbs. Each is wearing its factory-original
costume,the man with elaborate Eastern European costume including soutache-embroidered
jacket with fur trim,fur cap,unusual boots; and the woman with lovely silk and transfer-print
cotton ensemble,undergarments,painted blue ankle boots with purple tassels. Excellent
condition. Germany,circa 1875.
