Description
32"(81 cm.) w. x 15"h. x 13"d. A wooden-framed store with attached glazed-door cabinets at
each end,and having wide-angled walls to display the plethora of goods,has original faux-
wood-grained painted walls,counters with open bins at the botton,tables,benches and wall
shelving. A low wooden counter sits at the front with brass scales and built-in money slot.
There is a fulsome array of foodstuffs,glass and stoneware bottles,set of six wooden faux-jars
with original paper labels in three languages,various pewter dishes,and sundry other objects.
A porcelain lady tends shop; she is posed on a constructed slit in the floor and can easily
move forward when a customer enters the shop,or retire to her private accounting alcove
when the store is quiet. Very good condition. Germany,the commercially-made store with
unique "walking"slot is by unknown maker,mid-19th century.
