Description
6" (15 cm.) h. desk. Each of ebony or rosewood
finish,comprising two cabinet desks with
drop-front writing table and lower drawers,and a
child's slant-front desk with hinged lid. The
desks show variation in decoration although their
styles are fairly uniform; decorations include
gold stenciling,columns painted to simulate ivory
or ebony,crests,and interior arrangements of
niches and drawers. Very good condition with minor
paper rubs. Germany,Walterhausen,circa 1870.
