34" (86 cm.) w. x 13"h. x 13"d. The wooden-framed doll rooms with front pilasters and
painted grey and ochre exterior,finished window frames on the exterior,three interior
windows that are each three-paned with bottom-opening section,richly-paneled wooden
door between the rooms,old wall paper and lithographed paper on floors to simulate parquet;
the living paper has scenes of children at play. There are wooden cornices that match the trim
at ceiling edge,and lavish lace,velvet and beaded draperies. The home is richly-furnished; the
living room has a tin fireplace painted to simulate green marble,tall metal hanging
clock,green woven and beaded carpet,dark wood set of furniture with green velvet,original
upholstery and silk fringe,buffet,trestle table,beaded chandelier,porcelain vases and
statues,porcelain potted flowers,scrapbook,a set of three early framed scenic watercolors,and
other various prints. The dressing room is highlighted by a lovely crystal hanging lamp,and
furnished with various pieces including pair of upholstered chairs,wash stand,cabinet,beaded
and woven carpet,Art Nouveau figural lady with mirror,and other accessories. There are three
glass-eyed dollhouse ladies,a dollhouse man with sculpted moustache,an all-bisque doll with
cobalt blue eyes,and a paper-mache dog with fur cover. Excellent condition,all
furniture,accessories and dolls are of the period. Germany,circa 1895,a fascinating glimpse of
life in turn-of-the-century bourgeois home,in appealing shelf-size.
