Description
43" (109 cm.) w. x 17"h. x 17"d. Large wooden two-room dollhouse setting has original
lithographed-paper simulating brick on the exterior with painted dark green base and
trim,and olive green shaped pilasters. The color combination is repeated on the wooden
ceiling edging and on the paneled door between the two rooms. Each room has silk and lace
curtains,old wallpapers and lithographed floor papers to simulate inlay-stone,with fine woven
carpets. The parlor is furnished with a fine old velvet-covered Waltershausen ensemble
comprising a tufted sofa and five rounded chairs,each with ebony black feet and dark green
silk fringe; Biedermeier round table and dressing sewing cabinet with attached velvet foot
stool,cast iron table,and an early mahogany chest with inlay and brass pulls. There is a three-
arm gas chandelier,marble pedestal with bust,and accessories including a Biedermeier
clock,velvet-covered stool,superb pair of porcelain statue ladies,metal dog,lamp with fabric
shade,various framed pictures,art glass vase,oil painting,various porcelain vases,and gilded
metal service. The bedroom is furnished with a high-back canopy bed with silk covers,Boulle
wood washstand with gilt stenciling and water receptable at the back,lace-covered cradle with
little porcelain baby,large Boulle chair with maroon-velvet upholstery,gilt metal chair,bisque
bust on pedestal,five-arm copper candelabra and matching wall candle holder,and a variety of
wall prints and decorative accessories. There are three bisque or porcelain dollhouse dolls.
