50" (127 cm.) w. 44"h. x 20"d. A large wooden house with simple exterior having oddly-
placed random windows,painted ochre with red trim and roof,has an open front with access to
the two floors plus attic with low eaves. There are two rooms on each floor with a center
hallway room between with an exterior door highlighted by a pebbled glass window. Each of
the rooms has a wonderful inlay wooden parquet floor,each with a different pattern,the
kitchen floor to resemble tile. The rooms on the left side of the house are,curiously,shallower
than the others,and they comprise a sitting room on the upper floor whose original wooden
furnishings includes a desk,cupboard,chair,table and bench; and kitchen on the lower floor
furnished with original wooden cupboard and matching dry sink (each with faux-bone
knobs),table,bench,two chairs,2 hanging shelves,and an early tin stove. The larger (deeper)
rooms on the right side include a bedroom on the upper floor that is furnished with original
matching painted furniture trimmed with stenciling,including 2 beds,2 night-stands,mirrored
armoire,and a chest of drawers; and a sitting room with original matched furnishings that
include a sofa with grand surround,large armoire,grandfather clock,buffet,table,and a faux-
stove. Excellent condition. Probably German,late 19th century,a very similar home with similar
furnishings are on display at the Puppen Museum of Vienna.
