paper folding room assembles to form an elegant
salon with two rear windows having Dresden
embossed-paper valences and lace
curtains,wall-paper with border,and
lithographed-paper floor. There is an original
Dresden-paper framed mirror and soft metal
fireplace with silvered finish. The room is
furnished with an outstanding selection of
mid-19th century carved ivory pieces including
secretary desk with hinged drop front having ivory
writing utensils on the interior; superb cabinet
with intricate cutwork on the front door; spinet
piano with pedal frame,carved keys,music sheet and
carved candle sticks and vases; toilette table
with mirror and carved jars; mirrored-back curio
cabinet with tiny treasures; floor lamp with silk
shade; spinning wheel; rocking chair,straight
chair with superb carving of cabriole legs; chess
table with minute chess figures and an ebony tea
table with ivory feet that is richly laden with
tiny ivory dishes. Also,there is a set of five
very delicate bone chairs with silk upholstered
seats,and two matching foot stools. Excellent
condition,few small missing pieces.
