Description
3 1/2"h. Three tragant ornaments made of a delicate composite of tragaganth gum,flour,sugar
and water,depict a matched pair of banquet ornaments,and an ornamental bird cage with little
bird on a perch. The pieces are decorated with gilding,the cage has painted wire sides,and there
are glass chimneys in the lamps which are enhanced with silver-painted gargoyles. Excellent
condition. Dresden,Germany,mid-19th century,extremely rare.
