Description
22" (56 cm.) w. x 11"h. x 11"d. The wooden framed
room with shapely column front is fitted on the
interior with lithographed paper to simulate
walls,windows,architectural details,furniture and
accessories,and there is lithographed paper on the
floor to simulate carpet. The room is
well-furnished with wonderful petite
pieces,highlighted by a gilded metal set of
settee,four chairs,stool and table,each with
patterned silk taffeta upholstery. There is a tin
parlor stove,probably Maerklin,with profile of
lady's head and gilded crest,ormolu table,ormolu
three-tiered stand,leather table,small metal chair
with Vienna porcelain inserts,fancy parlor stove
that began as a candy container,bronze dog,and a
myriad of rare accessories: ormolu birdcage,ormolu
decanter set with green glass bottles,gilt metal
tea service,leather trunk,ormolu three-tiered
dessert plate,and a very fine porcelain statue of
a lady holding a baby with Dresden lace trim.
There is a velvet carpet with gold metallic
weave,and four porcelain-head ladies with original
costumes. Excellent condition. Circa 1890.
