22" (56 cm.) Carved shoulderhead with slender angular face turned slightly to the side, elongated throat, blue enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, shaded brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth, three beauty spots, brunette wig, original firmly-shaped pink cotton sateen body with shapely waist, carved wooden lower arms and legs, shapely ankles. Condition: generally excellent, some old touch-up on shoulderplate: Germany, early 1800s. Value Points: regal portrait doll with fine presence, original body, and original costume of patterned ecru and aqua silk with gilt metallic edging and threads, accented rhinestone, undergarments, stitched-on stockings and garters, matching handstitched blue silk slippers, and elaborate lace coiffe, and having three original painted beauty marks on her face indicating her high social rank.
