Description
31"w. x 14"h. x 14"d. A wooden framed two-room dollhouse features a sun room with
veranda-like setting at the back on a slightly-raised dais with column frames (that match the
three front columns) and railing. A very large stained glass window in exuberant Art Nouveau
design is centered on the wall. A door with set-in matching stained glass window opens to
the second room which has a tri-part side window with opening hinges. The walls have
original matching paper with hand-painted designs in different color schemes, and each has
paper-lithographed parquet floors. There is a fabric-shade hanging lamp in the sun room,a
woven carpet in each room, and a very fine wooden parlor set in the side room (settee, six
chairs and a table) with original blue silk upholstery and braid trim. Other furnishings include
pier mirror, writing desk,a pair of bisque statues with silk flowers, ormolu frame, and gilded
metal tea service. The house has original lithographed paper around the entire exterior, and is
pencil marked "518.1" on the underside. Excellent condition. Germany, circa 1915,possibly
Paul Leonhardt whose inventory numbers are consistent with 518 and whose original catalogs
illustrated other houses with stained glass windows. A rare and charming setting.
