5" (13 cm.) l. sofa. 4"l. table. The frames of the diminutive furniture pieces are formed with
adroitly placed "wishbones" with faux-stained-wood finishes; the sofa,for example,has three
small wish-bones forming the back with two larger wish-bones as the side supports. The set
includes settee,oval table,six dining chairs,one arm chair,and two tinier children's chairs,and
each has original rose silk satin upholstery with feather-stitch and tassel trim. Included are two
2 1/2" all-bisque dolls with swivel head,painted features,wigs,blue painted boots,and antique
costumes. Excellent condition. Mid-19th century. The set was featured in IDHN described as
"Victorian Governess-made furniture",utilizing ×found' household objects and employing fainty
needlework skills.
