Description
9"l. The wood-framed furniture with brown-stained finish, dark burgundy velvet upholstery edged with hand-made rick-rack of purple cord and metallic threads, has gracefully arched and curved designs, and original paper back on most pieces. The set comprises sofa, arm chair, oval pedestal library table, four side chairs, mirrored back curio cabinet, and secretary desk. Excellent condition. Germany,early-20th century,a similar set is at the Nuremburg National Museum, and it is believed to be the prototype set for the tinplate Rock and Graner furniture that followed thereafter; the furniture style and the brown stained finish are virtually identical to Rock and Graner's tin furniture that was their signature style.
