Description
24"w. x 15"h. x 14"d. A wooden framed room with ornamental grooved and arched pilasters at
the front is painted original cream with grey trim. There are two three-paned curtained
windows at the back,and the house has original floral wallpaper with scalloped edge
wainscoting,and an unusual border of flitting butterflies. The paper lithographed floor
simulates tiles. The wooden furniture includes crib with gilt decorations,changing table with
pull-out shelves at the sides,playpen,round table and three curved back chairs,straight
chair,toy piano with keywind mechanism to play Rock-Bye-Baby according to original paper
tune label on the base. The house is in good condition with the exception of spotting and
crinkling of wallpaper; furniture is excellent. Germany,the house is pencil lettered 3090 and
the house and the crib are attributed to Moritz Gottschalk; maker of other furniture uncertain.
