21"w. x 12"d. x 12"h. A folding box opens to form the tapestry-printed floor and lower
support walls of an elegant Parisian salon of the 1890 era; five-section folding cardboard with
original lithographed paper depicting wallpaper and lavishly-draped windows is designed to
be set inside the base. Original furnishings include a fireplace with blue silk ledge and fire
screen; rosewood and ebony upright piano with painted keys; matching round pedestal
table,ebony-framed settee with blue tufted upholstery and braid trim; and a set of four
Thonet-style bentwood chairs with matching blue silk upholstery. Accessories include a large
gilded-ormolu mantel mirror,a set of six matching ormolu-framed oval portraits of beautiful
women,as superb porcenalin figural group and a pair of outstanding tall three-arm ormolu
candelabra for the mantel. Excellent condition,some minor wear at wall folding
creases,exterior box worn. The stamp of Paris luxury toy store "Magasin des Enfants" appears
on the outside of walls. French,circa 1890.
