47"w. x 17"h. x 19"d. Two large rooms are wooden framed with original faux-wood-graining
on the exterior with dark brown trim,and having decorative pilasters at the front with the
same decorations. A grand faux-paint-grained double door with paneling and cornice leads
from one room to the other. There is old wallpaper with decorative borders in each room,and
the paper lithographed original floors are designed to simulate carpeting. Each room has rear
and side windows with original cornices in faux wood grain finish. The Green Beaded Curtain
Room has outstanding wood paneled wainscoting and chair rail with faux-paint-graining to
match the doors and cornices and is furnished with a green glass chandelier by Gerlach,and
red velvet late Victorian sofa and chairs surround a well-laden wooden table; there is a
wooden dessert buffet,wooden clock,velvet-framed portraits,velvet stool,other
prints,vases,flowers and more. The Blue Beaded Curtain Room is highlighted by a splendid
ormolu-framed chandelier with blue and crystal glass beads,and has a beaded blue tapestry
carpet to match the blue beaded curtains. The room is furnished with a glazed ceramic parlor
stove,wooden table with gilt decorations,blue silk upholstered sofa and chairs,pier mirror,six
paintings including four hand-painted watercolors in gilt frames,very fine Limoges tea
service,metal clock,metal-base parlor lamp and other statuary,vases,and flowers. Seven
bisque dolls in antique costumes (one man with notable mutton chop sideburns) live in the
house,along with their four bisque or porcelain dogs. Excellent condition. Germany,circa
1890,a lively scene of a prosperous late Victorian family,the house itself have luxurious
architectural details.
